We recommend a visit to Sanders and Wallace, glass blowers, in the Kingstreet Workshops. Outdoor Pursuits: A wide choice of activies in the area, including Horse Riding, Shooting, Sailing and Fishing. There is swimming in the Nidderdale Recreation Centre, with its modern indoor pool and gym, or for those who like it under groud, Stump Cross Caverns. You can even learn carriage driving with Joe Hodgson at Carriage Driving Tuition North Yorkshire. Walking: Many glorious opportunities, including Heritage Trails and the Mosaic Walk, which passes right past our front door. Museums: Music and Theatre: The area has numerous Festivals, Concerts and Plays at various points in the calendar, both amateur and professional, with live music venues in Harrogate, Ripon and York. Food and Drink: Enjoy a warm welcome at the Drover's Inn, right next door! - home cooking and real fires, or visit the many delightful pubs in the area. Pateley Bridge has a range of traditional shops, among them The Oldest Sweetshop in England - a must, even if your self-restraint allows you only to look!
